Denise Young

Denise Young has made frequent appearances with VLOC in such roles as Saffi in The Gypsy Baron (2006), Elsie in The Yeomen of the Guard (2005), The Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute (2004), Margot in The Desert Song (2004), Mabel in Pirates of Penzance (2003), Giannetta in The Gondoliers (2002), Angelina in Trial by Jury (2002), Laetitia in The Zoo 2002, The Baroness in La Vie Parisienne (2002),Yum-Yum in The Mikado (2001), Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus (2000), Lady Psyche in Princess Ida (1999), and Clo-Clo in [[The Merry Widow (1996). Other recent opera appearances include Dorine in Kirke Mechem's Tartuffe, Lucy in Menotti's The Telephone, Elvira in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Susanna in Mozart's Marriage of Figaro with The Forgotten Opera Company.

She has been the president of VLOC for the last nine years and has also served as producer and costume designer for many of the shows. Costuming credits include The Merry Widow, Die Fledermaus, Mikado, The Zoo, Pirates of Penzance, Magic Flute, Gypsy Baron, Ruddigore and Elixir.
