Doug Benton

Doug Benton, (Sgt. Belcore, Elixir of Love) a lyric baritone, returns to VLOC after last performing the role of Count Homonay in the company’s 2005 production of The Gypsy Baron. He also sang Dr. Falke when VLOC presented Die Fledermaus in 2000. Recent roles include Guglielmo in Così fan tutte with the Brooklyn Repertory Opera, Pooh-Bah in the Washington Savoyards production, The “Condensed” Mikado, and Melchior in Opera Bel Cantanti’s production of Amahl and the Night Visitors. He resides in Philadelphia and studies voice with Roberta Knie.
