Synopsis
Fall in love all over again with The Elixir of Love in this fresh, Victorian-inspired production. Set on a charming English countryside estate, Donizetti’s beloved comic opera is reimagined with the wit and whimsy of a Gilbert & Sullivan operetta. The Elixir of Love follows the sweet but shy Nemorino, who longs for the beautiful and wealthy Adina. When a boastful soldier, Belcore, vies for her attention, Nemorino turns to a traveling quack, Dr. Dulcamara, for help—purchasing a supposed “love potion” to win her heart. Expect eccentric characters, heartfelt romance, and delightful surprises—including new roles inspired by W.S. Gilbert’s own parody.
