Set in the fictional duchy of Gerolstein. The story revolves around the young and spirited Grand Duchess, who has a keen interest in military matters. She whimsically appoints the handsome but inexperienced soldier, Fritz, as the new general of her army. Despite her infatuation with Fritz, he is already in love with the charming Wanda. As the Grand Duchess's romantic advances lead to a series of comedic misunderstandings and political machinations, the plot unfolds with a mix of humor, satire, and melodic charm.


Presented in semi-staged concert format with full orchestra.
