A Polish fugitive named Thaddeus falls in love with Count Arnheim's daughter Arline whom he kidnapped as a child and brought back to live with his band of gypsies.  But when the Queen of the Gypsies attempts to sabotage the union, identities are revealed and the truth comes out. Will love and forgiveness win out over revenge?
