![]() We are thrilled to bring back our cast interview series for our upcoming production of Gilbert & Sullivan's, The Gondoliers! Please welcome our first interviewee, soprano Leanne Estabrook! Name Leanne Estabrook What's your role in The Gondoliers? Fiametta What made you decide to get involved with The Gondoliers? I was looking for a company to perform with, and I saw the audition notice. I decided to go for it, and here I am! What are you enjoying most about working on The Gondoliers with VLOC? Everyone is so kind, and it is a group of great musicians. Making music and getting to know everyone is really special. What is your dream role/job? Mimi in La Boheme What is the first musical/opera/play you ever saw and what effect did it have on you? I don't remember one in particular - I used to watch old musical movies with my grandmother. My favorites were My Fair Lady, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and Mary Poppins. I just fell in love with music, singing, and theatrics in general - and I'm still in love with it today. How do you think 21st Century audiences can benefit from seeing Gilbert & Sullivan performed today? I think that the subtle comedy is something that is fun for everyone - it means you really have to listen and pay attention, or you might miss something funny. We can all benefit from some focus in our lives. When you're not performing in community theatre, what do you do? (job, hobby, family, etc.) I'm an office assistant 9-5, and a singer, cat mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend all the time. Thank you Leanne! Tickets are already on sale for The Gondoliers. If you need a gift for the art or music lover in your life, consider giving them the gift of live performance! You can get tickets to The Gondoliers OR 2-show season tickets for VLOC's 2018-2019 season! Call the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office at 240-314-8690 or purchase online HERE.
