A little Robin Hood folklore... or is it?

VLOC's production of De Koven's Robin Hood opens in just over a week!  The story of Robin Hood and his band of merry men is a widely known English folk story.  But did you ever wonder if there was any truth to it?

Well, there just might be!  Robin Hood was rumored to have been a real resident of Nottingham, England that really knew his way around both a sword and a bow and arrow.  The first reference of Robin Hood is from a famous 14th century poem, Piers Plowman.  He starts popping up in more stories and tales in the next two centuries, and his legend grew.

Part of that legend was his love for Maid Marian, and as the legend goes, they were married in St. Mary's Church in the tiny town of Edwinstowe. The church draws its fair share of tourists, and there's even a statue of Robin and Marian on the church grounds.

So what do you think - is the legend of Robin Hood real? We can't answer that for you, but we can give you a fantastic operatic production of the legend!  So get your tickets to see Robin Hood today!  Call the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office at 240-314-8690 or get your tickets online HERE.
