![]() It's officially Ruddigore week! It's getting pretty exciting at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater what with a weekend full of rehearsals and moving the set into place. We continue our series of cast interviews today with Kayla Cummings. Thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself, Kayla! Name Kayla Cummings What's your role in Ruddigore? Bridesmaid/Chorus When and how did you first get involved with VLOC? I found VLOC while searching for local opera companies to audition for, trying to expand my experience outside of high school. My first opera with VLOC was Utopia, Limited. I really enjoyed performing with this group and the era of music. My second opera with VLOC was last spring's Pirates of Penzance. This was one of my favorites so far, but Ruddigore may top that. When you're not performing in community theatre, what do you do? (job, hobby, family, etc.) I am currently a sophomore at Suitland High School Center for the Visual & Performing Arts. I'm a member of the Concert and Chamber Choirs, studying opera. We also get to train privately with WNO members weekly through our program. I am always looking for singing competitions or plays to audition for. This year I have been accepted into The Tanglewood Institute at Boston University College of Fine Arts. Your first chance to see Ruddigore is coming up this Thursday! Are you as excited as we are? Get your tickets now if you don't have them already! Call the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater box office at 240-314-8690 or go online and buy your tickets here. See you at one of the shows!
